Sales Tax Measure Approved by Voters

Voters in Maize overwhelmingly approved the proposed one‑cent (1%) citywide retailers' sales tax during the August 5, 2025 Primary Election. The unofficial vote count was 241 in favor and 124 opposed. The tax is scheduled to take effect on January 1, 2026, contingent upon official certification. The additional revenue will support infrastructure projects and could help reduce the city's property tax burden.
